This music video is an audio-visual accompaniment to Instrument/Traveler’s Ode, a multimodal poetry project by Dao Strom. The video corresponds to a section in the book, Instrument, a sequence of photos + lyric essays titled “[Wading into a new decade (ten miles of jungle, twenty+ river crossings, one night in a cave, chimes at the altar of the Highway of Horror, then lunch by the sea) forty-five years after the exodus]”. The song appears on the album, Traveler’s Ode.
An excerpt from this image-text sequence was published in Poetry Northwest in Oct 2020.
A version of the video with ambient-sound only exhibited as part of a 2-channel video installation at Portland Institute for Contemporary Art for TBA:20.
